Doctor Akbar Shah is a compassionate and experienced family physician currently working in the GTA and Barrie.

Dr. Shah has MRCP from UK and have considerable working experience and exposure in United Kingdom. He also has both Canadian & US Medical Licensing to work as medical doctor in both the countries.

After completion his medical education from Pakistan, he started working as a medical director at a health care hospital for two years and then came to Canada in 1997, where he worked with cardiac specialist Dr. Soltzman for one year. Afterwards, he worked as a clinical assistant with famous integrated medical doctor, Dr. Hui, performing chelation treatment for high risk cardiac patients for eight years. Thereafter he was offered a position as a physician assistant in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for two years.

Dr. Shah completed his residency in Laurentian University, Sudbury, Ontario. After completion of residency certified by CCFP, he worked as a hospitalist in internal medicine in Sault Area Hospital.​

Dr. Shah has assisted in several surgeries and has worked in Urology, Respiratory, and Gastroenterology. His areas of interest; Geriatric, medicine, Cardiology, Diabetes, and Gastroenterology.​

Dr. Shah is currently serving in Barrie, and has recently started a practice in Markham, ON. Additionally, Dr. Shah has long term experience in pediatrics and is great with children. He is a multilingual doctor speaking English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
